Library For Financial Literacy
Remember your school days? How strange it is that we are taught subjects and formulas that, in adulthood, we rarely or never stumble upon again. Yet, each and every day of our lives, we
must deal with personal finances. Even as you sit relaxed in front of your computer reading this, you are most likely incurring expenses. For example, there are online fees and phone line expenses. What about the cost of those electrons powering up your computer, monitor, modem, printer—and the rest of your household!
If you are among the millions of Americans burdened with consumer debt, as each moment ticks you are accruing interest charges. You can't escape it. Each and every day of your life you
have to deal with personal finances.
Now answer this question. During your lifetime, how many courses have you had in personal money management?
It's sad, but for many Americans, the answer is zero. It's no wonder that every year, nearly one million Americans file personal bankruptcy. But rather than dwell on the negative, we opt to stay focused on the positive. While our educational system may be lacking in preparing tomorrow's leaders in making sound financial judgements,
the Information Superhighway provides us with new opportunities.
Our objective in establishing the Library For
Money Management is to seek out sound financial information and resources and place
it within arm's length to anyone with access to
the Internet and with a desire to become debt
free and financially literate.
